We are off shortly to see Opening Games. As our hotel overlooks the stadium there is an amazing massing of people. We had a great day doing Shanghai and will be on to Beijing early in the morning.

I had a big day in Shanghi in January of 1947. Stood on deck while they unloaded some funny looking cars that you couldn't tell whether coming or going. Studebakers. We were on our way home so when we got four hours liberty to go ashore we wore our field jackets and those big old ugly winter long coats and sold them on black market. Spent all my money on trinkets and not enough left to spend on the ladies? At 18 I was very lucky because a few days out at sea about one third of the ship came down with The Clap! Go Sara.

I don't know who the anonymous commenter is, but I love him.
